Chocolate Party Ideas - 7 Ways to Sweeten Any Celebration With This Rich Candy Treat

Who doesn't love chocolate?! The rich, sweet taste appeals to everyone from little kids to their great grandmothers.  So if you're looking for that special ingredient to add something extra to your next party, why not choose this delicious treat?  You can make it your entire party theme or just the crowning touch to your celebration.  Here are seven ways you can use chocolatey goodness to elevate your party to the next level.

1. Invitations.  Set the tone for your party by choosing invitations with a rich cocoa brown color scheme.  It's become a trendy color in the past few years, so the invitations shouldn't be difficult to find.  Add a drop of chocolate fragrance oil, scented perfume or even scratch and sniff stickers to the back of the envelope before mailing.

2. Atmosphere.  Just about any candle shop will carry candles scented with this delicous fragrance.  Scatter these small lit candles around the party to create an inviting ambiance.  Decorate with cocoa brown balloons.  You can use other balloon colors to accent the brown, such as silver, gold and red.  If you want to take it a step further, you can have napkins, plates and tablecloths in the same or coordinating color.  Using your digital camera on macro mode, take super close up photos of candy bar wrappers or the inside of a Whitman's sampler or box of truffles.  Make poster size enlargements of your pictures and display them at the party.

3. Chocolate Fountain.  This makes an elegant centerpiece and is a lot of fun.  Although a word of warning, it also very messy.  You can buy these small fountains for a reasonable price and rent larger ones.  For a cheaper alternative, consider a making a rich chocolatey fondue.  You can still dip pieces of fruit, cake, marshmallows, graham crackers and pretzels into the mixture.  But since the fondue tends to be a bit thicker in consistency than the fountain, there is also less mess potential.

4. Games.  If you're having an entire theme party, you might want to also include some games.  Hide gourmet wrapped truffles for a sort of Easter egg hunt.  You could fill a jar with M&Ms and have everyone guess how many candies it contains.   The person that comes the closest can take home the entire jar as a prize.  Play trivia by researching candy facts online.  Use wrapped confections as game pieces for bingo or other games.

5. Tasting.  You could build a whole party around this.  Invite your guests to taste and rate a variety of chocolates.  Break apart each bar and display on individual plates. Make sure you label each plate with it's name, country of origin, and anything else interesting about it.  This way, your guests can distinguish between the samples, when they mark the cards you printed for their ratings.  Don't forget to offer breadsticks and crackers to cleanse the palate between tastings.

6. Unique menu items.  Instead of just the usual devil's food cake, how about croissants filled with this rich ingredient?  Replace standard brownies with cocoa raspberry cookie bars.   You can serve white, milk or dark chocolate covered potato chips, popcorn and orange peel. Believe it or not, they actually sell bacon that has been coated in this delectable confection.  You don't have to go that far, but it certainly would be a conversation starter!

7. Chocolate favors.  Whether you have a candy theme party or a regular traditional event, you can't go wrong if you send your guests home with tasty party favors.  Personalized chocolate-bars are popular.  The candy bar wrappers are imprinted with your message and sometimes even a photo.  You can also find little mint size tins filled with these gourmet treats with the top cover displaying a personalized design customized for the occasion.  Your party favors don't have to be limited to the edible variety.  You can also give away cocoa scented candles, lip balm and bath beads.  Or how about a funny T-shirt or magnet with a quote about this dreamy confection?

So, the next time you plan a party, think about this delicious treat.  Whether you add just a little sweet touch to your celebration by giving your guests chocolate favors, or pull out all the stops and throw a big cocoa theme party, your guests will be delighted.

What's So Special About Personalized Christmas Ornaments?

Have you ever received a gift that touched your heart? What was it about that gift that made you feel that way? Was the gift expensive? Was the gift something you had been wanting? Was the gift something that the giver put a lot of thought into and picked something special just for you?

Personalized Ornaments are not just for Christmas anymore. As an ornament maker for over 15 years, I have had people buy special ornaments for their loved ones and friends year around. For new babies, new graduates, teachers, bus drivers, hair dressers, new mothers or grandmothers, and for newly marrieds or engaged couples are among the occasions that people with give an ornament as a gift. Some ornaments that are not particularly "Christmasy" looking can even be used as small wall hangings. You can buy ornaments for other holidays too such as Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and 4th of July.

What are the advantages of giving a personalized ornament as a gift?

Well, for starters, they are personal. It's something special, and unique for that person alone. You give that same ornament with the same things written on it to someone else, and odds are that person will not appreciate it. The ornament is personal to the recipient alone. It shows that you thought about the "giftee" and did not just grab anything off the shelf at Walmart.

Another advantage to giving personalized ornaments is that they are relatively inexpensive. Most of them range from $5 to $20. Where else can you get something handcrafted and unique for such a reasonable price?

Where can you find Personalized Christmas ornaments? There was a time when craft shows were the only place they were available. Now, although craft shows are still a good option, you can also find them on the internet, and you can make your own (there are plenty of tutorials, and booklets on this). You can also sometimes find them at mass retailers but you are not going to get something handcrafted there and you are very limited on what personalization you can have on them.

Tradition is a major reason people buy or make personalized Christmas tree ornaments. Something that alot of my customers do is collect personalized Christmas ornaments. They get a new ornament for their kids and/or their family every year. One woman buys every new ornament that I have out that year. Her tree is nothing but personalized ornaments and red glass balls. Really pretty.

Collecting personalized ornaments year after year chronicles the life of your family. You can see when new children were born, special occasions happened and of course there are memories of prior Christmases attached to each ornament.

If you prefer, you and your kids could start a tradition every year of making family members their own personalized ornament. Polymer clay is readily available in craft stores. Home made dough recipes are made from salt and flour, bread, or apple sauce and cinnamon for a fragrant scent. Below is a simple salt dough recipe.

Simple Salt Dough Recipe

2 c. flour

1 c. salt

1 c. water

Store these ornaments in a airtight bag in a cool, dry place away from possible infestation from rodents or bugs. Ornaments that you buy are sometimes made from this type of dough & require the same care but usually they are made from polymer clay or resin, are quite durable and will last pretty much forever.

So take the plunge. Make someone feel special. Or treat yourself. Start new family traditions. You won't regret it!

  • Mix flour and salt.
  • Add water, a little at a time and knead until dough is smooth.
  • Roll out dough and use cookie cutters to create shapes. Or sculpt your ornament free hand.
  • Make a hole for the hanger with a straw or skewer.
  • For sculpted ornaments, use wire cutters and cut a paper clip in half. Stick the points of one of the rounded wires from the clip into the ornament and pull out. Dip the points in a white household glue and place back in ornament.
Bake in a 325 degree oven for 1-2 hours. The thicker the piece, the longer it should bake.Let cool before removing from oven.

You can decorate with acrylic paints, glue on buttons, sequins, ric rac, and sprinkle glitter over wet paint. When dry, seal with an acrylic sealer. Personalize with permanent markers.

"Ryan's Daughter" Is a Love Triangle With Passion, Adultery, Rebellion and a Village Idiot

Ryan's Daughter - 4 Stars (Excellent)

"Ryan's Daughter" is a love story that evolves into a love triangle set in the epic splendor of an isolated village on Ireland's scenic Dingle Peninsula. Like all love triangles, it ends in a disaster that becomes a tragedy.

Rosy Ryan (Sarah Miles) seeks to find that certain something that is missing in her life and thinks she finds it when she announces her love for her former schoolteacher, Charles Shaughnessy (Robert Mitchum), who is old enough to be her father.

Unfortunately for Rosy, her marriage brings her love but not passion. It is passion she finds when she meets and instantly falls into the arms of Major Randolph Doryan (Christopher Jones), a young British officer assigned to the village. Major Doryan is a World War I hero who ends up in the village as part of the British occupation while the war continues on in Europe. The villagers resent the British presence and will jump at a chance to fight for their freedom.

Tim O'Leary (Barry Foster) leads a resistance force that awaits the arrival of German weapons so they can finally arm and defend themselves against the British takeover. The villagers become aware of Rosy's infidelity through the village idiot Michael (John Mills) who is mute and considered a half-wit, but Michael is clever enough to steal away the major's uniform and medal while he is busy making love to Rosy in a secluded island cave.

Michael adores Rosy but instinctively knows he has no chance. He feels a kinship with Major Doryan as they both suffer from profound limps. Both the limp and shell shock are from Doryan's war injuries.

Tom Ryan (Leo McKern) is Rosy's father and owner of the local pub. He is a big freedom talker who is taken at his word to be a freedom fighter by the rebel leader O'Leary, who leans on him for support in gathering up the German weapons that are dropped off at sea and floating to shore. You just have to see the storm scene, huge waves are crashing against the rocky shore while villagers are scrambling to recover broken boxes of rifles, bullets and dynamite.

When the rebels seek to haul off the weapons stash, they are met by British soldiers who have been tipped off by Tom Ryan. O'Leary is shot by Major Doryan and captured while trying to escape. It is assumed he will be hung for leading the rebellion.

Once exposed, the villagers consider the unfaithful Rosy to be the "British officer's whore" as well as a disloyal and dishonorable informant when in fact it is her father. Ryan, whose wife has died, has spoiled his daughter growing up, and it is he who is the silent informer for the British that is never exposed, even when he has an opportunity to save his daughter from harm. The villagers become a mob and eventually beat up Rosy's husband Charles, strip Rosy naked and cut off her lovely long hair. This is apparently the ultimate disgrace in an Irish village, being ostracized and then humiliated.

Major Doryan ends up on the beach with Michael who has recovered some dynamite. When Doryan realizes his affair with Rosy is over, he uses the dynamite to commit suicide.

Rosy's husband is aware of her adultery but hopes it will run its course, and he will be there when it is over. When he finds he is unable to handle it, he decides to leave Rosy. They both know that they must leave the village and are led out of town by Father Collins (Trevor Howard), the Catholic priest.

Director David Lean had to wait a year before a storm dramatic enough appeared on the Atlantic Ocean to film the weapons recovery scene. This turned into a masterpiece of filming by Freddie Young who won an Oscar for his effort.

Cinematographer Freddie Young captures the raw beauty of Ireland with its ocean cliffs, green countryside, lazy pastures and hidden forest love nest. Young shot the film entirely in a 65mm widescreen format and in Super Panavision. It was the last such film shot until 22 years later when Ron Howard filmed "Far and Away" in 1992.

The storm scene is nothing short of spectacular as well as real. Leo McKern (as Rosy's father Tom) was injured and badly shaken up while filming the storm sequence and nearly drowned. McKern was so upset he vowed never to act again and did not for several years. The film includes a passionate love scene between Major Doryan and Rosy who was partially exposed (pretty hot for a film released in 1970).

In addition to Young's Oscar, John Mills won an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor for his role as the mute half-wit. Mills bowed at the Academy Awards ceremony when receiving his Oscar and said nothing in the shortest acceptance speech in Oscar history. Sarah Miles received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress and the film earned another nomination for Best Sound.

Mills also won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. Sarah Miles (Best Actress) and Trevor Howard (Best Supporting Actor) won Golden Globe nominations. A lot of critics at the time were not kind to David Lean as director of Ryan's Daughter. Lean was no slouch. He earned two Best Director Oscars for "The Bridge on the River Kwai" and "Lawrence of Arabia".

Lean was also nominated for a Best Director Oscar for "Doctor Zhivago" which won 5 Oscars and had 4 other nominations. Robert Bolt wrote Doctor Zhivago as well as Ryan's Daughter and "A Man for All Seasons". Bolt was twice married to Sarah Miles.

Lean would outperform his critics. He was voted the 9th greatest film director of all time in the BFI (British Film Institute) "Directors Top Directors" poll in 2002. This is a slow developing romance. The film runs for 3 hours and 16 minutes. Like almost all of Lean's films, Ryan's Daughter was hugely popular with moviegoers and movie lovers alike.

Ryan's Daughter is a story about relationships and an epic film worth watching.

Compiling Barbie Pictures

Barbie is indeed the most popular doll in the world. Since its launch at the American Toy Fair in New York City last March 1959, Barbie continued to capture the hearts of girls and women worldwide regardless of their age, race, and status in life.

Studies say that the Barbie doll is a $1.9 billion dollar industry yearly. Mattel Inc.-the creator of Barbie dolls-has even claimed that over three Barbie dolls are sold every second worldwide. Barbie was invented, designed, and created by Ruth Handler, the cofounder of Mattel in 1959. She was inspired from a Lilly Doll brought from Germany and is named after Ruth's daughter, Barbara.

The creators were supposed to market Barbie as a teenage fashion doll but when younger girls seem to like it, they opened other venues and shifted their targeted market. Barbie is quite popular because of her seemingly perfect stature and body measurements of 36-18-38. She's also became a hit because almost all the girls in the world wanted to be like her at one point in their lives. Aside from Barbie, Mattel also came up with her male version, Ken who was also named after the creator's son.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF COMPILATION

Aside from collecting the original Barbie doll pieces, some people have developed a hobby of collecting Barbie pictures. These people-who are fond of collecting Barbie doll pictures-enjoy collating the different pictures of Barbie since her first introduction in the doll market. For them, it is better to collect Barbie pictures compared to those original Barbie dolls because they are more convenient to store, more easier to compile and much cheaper depending on the value of the picture.

Barbie picture collectors say that collecting and compiling various Barbie dolls pictures is a good as collecting the dolls themselves because these can serve as valuable references. Aside from that, having in possession Barbie pictures can be valuable assets especially to those who are Barbie collectors themselves.

Here are some of the most sought-after Barbie pictures out there:
1. The picture of Barbie when she was first introduced in 1959.

2. Barbie's picture during her first career as a teenage fashion model.

3. Barbie's picture when she goes to College in 1964.

4. Picture of Army Barbie as a medic Sergeant in Desert Storm in 1992.

5. The picture of Barbie as the first Olympic athlete Barbie doll in 1975.

6. Barbie's picture as an astronaut in 1965, and 1986, and 1994.

7. Barbie's picture when she was introduced in Europe in 1961.

8. The pictures of Barbie with her friends and family.

Chocolate Bars With Personalized Wrappers - The Pros and Cons For Choosing Candy Party Favors

Whether you're planning a kid's birthday celebration or wedding reception, you'll have to make a decision about party favors.  One of the most popular options for these little giveaways are candy bars covered with personalized wrappers. But is this a good idea for your occasion? Here are the pros and cons to consider when choosing these chocolate treats.

Pros

* Everyone likes chocolate. According to recent surveys, chocolate is the number one flavor of choice for people living in the United States. And the average American eats 10 -12 pounds of this treat every year.  So, if you decide to give candy bars with personalized wrappers to your guests, they will undoubtedly appreciate the favors.

* They're inexpensive, but not cheap looking. If you're searching for party favors for your celebration that won't break the bank, then these are a good way to go.  You can get personalized candy wrappers with chocolate bars for under two dollars each.  You don't have to spend a lot, but it doesn't look like you raided the dollar store, either.

* They can be customized.  If you order from an online company, they can add your photo, change the font, include your message, transform the color and adapt the candy bar wrappers to fit your occasion.

* A variety of chocolate options are available. All kinds of candy bars in all sorts of sizes can be ordered with personalized wrappers.  If you have a favorite, it shouldn't be hard to find. Some business are offering Belgian chocolates. You can also find a few that work with a chocolatier to make your confection according to your specifications.

* You can make them yourself. Although there are plenty of companies that will produce these for you, this is one favor you might want to try creating.  You can download a free printable wrapper from the internet, design one using software on your computer or use your scrapbooking skills to fashion one from scratch. Then just cut, wrap and glue.

Cons

* You're not always guaranteed freshness.  Yes, chocolate has a relatively long shelf life (about a year).  But you may not know how long those candy bars have been hanging around the company's warehouse. It's important to buy from a reputable business or one that uses a chocolatier and makes the confections fresh for each customer.

* Chocolate bars can melt.  This is especially a problem if you order these party favors during the summer or you live in a warmer climate.

* You may have to pay extra shipping. Since these treats can melt, you may want to arrange overnight delivery of your package, which costs more money. You may also need to add a cold pack with your candy or choose an insulating box.  This can add to the expense, as well.

* They're not exactly a keepsake.  If you're looking for favors that your guests will save as a reminder of your special occasion, then these aren't for you.  A few people might save the personalized wrapper and put it in a photo album or scrapbook. But most will just enjoy eating them and that will be end of it.

* You might need extras.  People find chocolate irresistible. If you scatter these candy bars around, you might find them disappearing before the end of the party. Unless you have a way of placing them into goodie bags with individual's names on them, it might be a good idea to buy more than you think you need.

Conclusion

If you're looking for inexpensive party favors that everyone will really like, then chocolate bars with custom wrappers might be right for you. Browse online until you find the right company with great personalized designs or make then yourself. Just be aware that the candy should be fresh and protected from the heat. Although there are a few drawbacks, these treats are always a hit with guests.

Laura Biagiotti - Classic Perfume Brand

Times have really changed. The contrast between the contemporary and the old generation is really highlighted by the change in focus in consumer preferences and purchases. It has been noted that in the past, the affluent and the elite were very particular about the fragrances they wore. Fast forward and during the current time, the fragrance industry is complaining that consumers do not give much emphasis to the specific perfume brands as much as the consumers had in the distinct past.

Experts and analysts assert that such a change in preference can be brought about by the practical and minimalist principle of the current generation. Laura Biagiotti perfumes are among the few brands of fragrances that are aiming to bring back consumers' passion about scents. While it is true that there are numerous fragrance brands available in the market, sales figures have it that the overall perfume industry across the globe is not as rosy as it had been.

Laura Biagiotti perfumes are among the contemporary fragrance brands. That is why the perfume industry has been hopeful the popularity of the brand would help propel the popularity of perfumes globally. The latest release of the Laura Biagotti perfumes in 2001 called the Laura Biagotti Roma was specifically aimed to do so.

Laura Biagiotti as a fashion house was a namesake, founded by fashion designer Laura Biagiotti in 1972. Ms. Biagiotti was an Italian archeologist prior to her decision to pursue a fashion designing career in 1965, when she joined her mother's humble tailoring firm. The Laura Biagiotti fashion house has been able to come up with contemporary designs and pieces that distinct it from the rest of the fashion house crowd in Europe.

As part of its commitment to cater to the modern and contemporary fashion consumers, Laura Biagiotti carried out initiatives to formulate and design its own in-house perfumes like Fioribianchi, which was its first line released in 1982; Laura in 1983; Night in 1986; Roma in 1988 and Venezia in 1992. In the 1990s, the brand was actively launching several other lines including Venezia for men, Sotto Voce, and Tempore. In the new millennium, Laura Biagiotti ushered in with some popular fragrance lines like Emotion and the well received Aqua di Roma for both men and women.

The company was able to launch and profuse the popularity of its lines of scents from Italy, to Europe and eventually to the rest of the world. As well as its fashion lines were made popular the world over, Laura Biagiotti perfumes were able to take the world by storm. The company, however, had to make several adjustments. Because during the contemporary times, consumers are more stringent about spending, the company made sure its perfumes would cater to the shrinking budget ranges of target clients.

Laura Biagiotti perfumes are still costly but compared to price tags of rival fragrances, they are more affordable and are bent to reach out to more consumers. As you go on and peek at the stalls on your next visit to the fragrance shop, remember to check out Laura Biagiotti perfumes and see and smell for yourself why consumers ought to choose the brand.

Vintage Doll Collecting - Engel-Puppen Doll Company

Engel-Puppen has been in business for more than 100 years. It is the oldest doll factory at its location in Roedental, Bavaria, Germany.

The Engel-Puppen dolls produce almost any type of doll from small playable vinyl dolls to decorative dolls in original German costumes, from nostalgic collectible dolls to valuable artist dolls made of porcelain in limited editions. The company also produces a large variety in doll clothes and accessories. One very important fact about the Engel-Puppen doll lines and accessories is that they are all made in Germany and meet the standard of quality that German products are known for all over the world.

At the end of the 19th century, home-workers in the city of Rodental, collected materials from their contractors located in world city of toys, Sonneberg. The dolls were usually complete. Most of the workers worked from workshops in their living rooms.

The first doll factory was established in Monchroden in October/November of 1896 by Edmuch Knoch and his wife, Emilie. Together they started working in one room of her father's house, but soon outgrew the space and moved to another house in Rothinestr 7. They moved into their own factory building in 1908 in Lange Wiesen 6.

The first big success of the Edmund Knoch Company was the small princess dolls sold mostly by exporters from Hamburg. Their next biggest customers were the export companies from Sonneberg, which is the oldest toy city in the world.

Edmund Knoch died in 1934. Edmund's son, Otto and his mother began to run the company, which now had 30 employees and home workers.

After the Second World War, Otto Knoch and his wife, Helga restarted the doll production with a trade mark of the letters "E.K." with a crown over them. Most deliveries went to the wholesalers and exporters in Sonneberg until the year of 1948.

Three more important doll factories were established in Germany. These were:

o E. Maar & Sohn in 1910

o Drei-M in 1920

o Zapf in 1931

The materials changed over the years from pressing compo, paper-mache, casting compo, porcelain and rubber to hard plastic and vinyl. Hard plastic and vinyl are materials of choice for doll production today.

With the death of Helga Knoch, Otto retired. His son, Lothar, had become a lawyer and was not interested in the doll business. Otto Knoch died in 1985.

January 1, 1976, Helmuth Engel came into the company and rented it for three years. Helmuth Engel worked with dolls all his life. After his childhood days in school, he joined the Drei-M doll company, which was one of the largest doll companies in Germany at that time. After 25 years working for the Drei-M doll company, Helmuth Engel decided to start his own company.

Helmuth Engel lead the Knoch Company in 1976 and at that time a new trademark was designed. The trademark was an angel with a crown placed in an oval. In 1979, Helmuth Engel bought the Knoch Company and moved the company to a larger building at Monchrodener Str. 55 on the main road in Rodental, which is located near the old factory. The company's name was changed from Edmund Knoch to "Helmut Engel."

Helmuth's daughter Susanne joined the company in 1983. By 1992, Susanne Engel created a part of the Engel collection. Markus Engle, the youngest child of Helmuth was the designated successor of Helmuth Engel. He joined the company in 1989. The company changed into a corporation with the name of "Engel-Puppen GmbH." Markus Engel now leads the business as the sole manager.

Marilyn Manson Demented Master of Horror Rock is Shocking the World

As a child, Manson was molested by a neighbor several times before confessing what was going on to his mother. It seems that his sexual actions have developed since he was very young since that event. The young Manson got into all sorts of adventures and impish behavior, including looking at his grandfathers' collection of sex toys and creating porn magazines for classmates. As an adult he exhibits these characteristics in many of his music videos.

While in college, Manson studied acting and journalism, the latter benefiting him with a job as a reporter for a rock magazine after he was fired from his job at a record store. While a reporter he interviewed Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails who would eventually become Mansons' co-producer for a while. As a result of studying theater, Manson has acted in several movies and created music videos with experience.

The band Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids came to life in 1989 while Manson was working as a reporter for a magazine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he lived during his college career. He attended rock clubs frequently in addition to his job and became influenced by musicians like Ozzy Osbourne and the band KISS. He made the band with a few other musicians that had the same interests as he did and excelled. Eventually the original name of Manson's band was shortened to Marilyn Manson in 1992.

The members of The Spooky Kids all took first names of girls and last names of murderers to complete the set, although many of the original members quit and were replaced sometime after. Manson and Trent Reznor came together a second time and collaborated to produce Manson's first three albums: Portrait of an American Family, AntiChrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals. To date, Mechanical Albums is the most popular and successful of Manson's albums.

Manson has said that the band's purpose was to push the laws of censorship to the brink, which has obviously been done. As a young man he was very interested in the debate about censorship and freedom of speech that was going on at the time and strive to break through the restrains of these laws. The band has been named one of the most controversial bands in history and some of the videos and album covers produced have been banned or changed in areas of the world. For example, the album cover for Mechanical Animals was edited in Japan because of Manson having six fingers on his left hand and (interestingly) not because he was posing as a naked alien.

Other projects that Manson contributed to were the bands Jack Off Jill, Satan on Fire, and Mrs. Scabtree. Jack Off Jill was to allow Manson to play in clubs that, by contract, his own band could not play in. He also helped name the band and worked as the producer for it before going into his own musical desires. Manson has also acted in several movies and performed for the Queen of the Damned soundtrack.

Although Manson seems to be a scary person, he has admitted to becoming everything that he was scared of as a child. This, he says, is part of what makes it so easy to be this person. He confesses that he is actually a bit frightened by shopping malls (although saying that it's the ONLY thing he's scared of).

In addition to being a musician he is also a poet, author, and artist. He enjoys making watercolor paintings at 3 AM with a chilled glass of absinthe to drink. He has sold his artwork to celebrities like Jack Osbourne during art exhibits.

Marilyn's interesting hobbies include collecting prosthetic limbs and old metal lunch boxes. A while back, a lawsuit was issued to Manson for "buying a child's skeleton and masks made of human skin". It seems that his actions have earned him five lawsuits known to the public so far, mostly with charges of misconduct. Most of the lawsuits ended in Manson's favor or were unresolved.

Due to his trademark black leather pants, the PETA named Marilyn as one of the worst dressed celebrities of 2008. That's a little harsh, don't you think? His other trademarks, which are heavy makeup and the colored contact lenses he wears in his left eye, have caught much less flack. The white face makeup, or "pancake makeup" is ruining his skin, however. I've seen pictures of him without his makeup on and his face is suffering. The lipstick is definitely my favorite part because of his perfect, full lips. Manson also sports a silver grill every once in a while.

Not surprisingly, he has a load of tattoos, spanning from 1994 to the present, the latest being the trademark spiral heart. There have been people calling him "The Illustrated Man". Some people speculate that the tattoos on his inner arms are to cover the scars from his youth when he self-harmed and that getting the tattoos is of the same nature as self-harming for him. Manson himself says that it was like a "permanent Halloween costume" for him. He used to dress in Halloween attire all the time when he was a kid and thinks it may have been brought over into his adult life. What could be better fitting for Marilyn Manson?

Dogs Plus Hot Cars Equal Disaster

I have been thinking about writing about this subject for quite a while but I have been putting it off because of the pain involved. I saw something today that changed my mind. And if my pain and shame saves one little life, it will be worth it.

Today I took an hour to go get a rare manicure. I don't think I've had a professional one in about 3 years and I felt like treating myself.

When I reached the shopping center parking lot, and got out of my car; I heard pitiful little cries. I looked around and at first saw nothing. But I was not about to give up. So I scanned the cars until I saw a little ball of white fluff in a large expensive car looking at me with soft brown eyes.

Immediately I was transported back in time 20 years ago. The pain still hits me and if I think about it too much, I'll start crying.

A little background. I was born an animal lover. Particularly dogs. My mom says when I was in a baby in a stroller, I would reach out and try to love on every dog I saw. When I was in my early twenties, I was so involved in the dog world that I worked as a Dog Groomer, and I was showing and breeding my 2 beloved Yorkies Ernie and Chassie. Then I married and had 2 girls 3 years apart. My dogs were still my babies and I was still dog crazy. Nothing will ever change that. But now I was immersed with 2 small children, a part time job and household duties too.

As a young family, we could only afford a mobile home in a small trailer court. The lot owners were an elderly couple who did not like kids or animals. So I was always trying to keep my dogs and babies quiet. Not an easy job. Every day at around noon, I would walk the 20 yards behind my house to the mailboxes to get my mail. The mailboxes were right by the elderly couple's house and they tended to sit out on their porch and scowl at me. So I would try to wait to when my kids were napping to get the mail because I sure did not want to remind these old coots that I had kids. Or animals.

One pleasant day in June, my dogs were particularly "barky". They were small dogs and you know how "yippy" little dogs can be. So when it was time to get the mail and the kids were sleeping, I stuck the dogs in my car so they would not wake up my kids while I took 2 minutes to walk to get my mail and back. I was not worried about the dogs. After all it would just be a few minutes and although it was sunny, it was not really hot, just the low eighties. So being the young, stupid, sleep deprived mom I was, I put my dogs in the car (with the windows rolled up so no one would hear them barking) and walked to get the mail. On the way back, one of my neighbors stopped to talk to me for a minute and then I heard my baby cry so I ran in the house to take care of her.

Well, I guess you can see where this is going. I did not think about my sweet little pups for several hours. When I did, I ran out to find them dead. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I was heartbroken and extremely angry with myself for doing something so stupid and being so forgetful. I went through a depression and lost all self esteem and confidence. How could I be trusted to raise 2 little humans if I could not even keep my 2 little fur babies alive?

It took quite a long awhile to get over it and I don't think I ever will be completely. This is so hard for me to confess and talk about. But I think it's so important because so many people think nothing of leaving their pets, and sometimes (gasp) even their babies, in hot cars while they go do their thing. They may think like I did, that it's not that hot. What they do not realize is that a car will become like a oven in just a few minutes. Your little pup has a FUR COAT on. Your dog can not sweat to cool himself. It doesn't take long to cause brain damage or death.

Please, please, leave your dogs at home if you cannot take them inside with you. I know they like to go for a ride, but it's just not worth it. You don't want to live with the grief and the guilt for the rest of your life like I do.

So, what did I do with the little Maltese in the big Cadillac? There was no way from where the car was parked, to tell what shop the owner had gone into. I decided to wait a few minutes and if the owner did not show, then I was going to call the police. Fortunately, the owner did come out after a few minutes. An older, obviously wealthy woman. I tried to politely talk to her and to tell her why it was such a bad idea to let her little fluff ball stay in the car like that. I even tried to share my story. But, she stormed off in a huff. Hopefully, even though she was angry, maybe I somehow got through to her after she had a chance to think about it. Hopefully her precious little pup will be important enough for her to think of his welfare first. Hopefully.

Montblanc Launches George Bernard Shaw Writer Series - Limited Edition Pen

Since the year 1992, Montblanc has dedicated one writing instrument a year to a great author in history who has been recognized world-wide for their literary genius. Not only are the pens dedicated to the author but they are artistically inspired by the life and works of the author giving each Writers Edition pen a unique story and personal history. When designing Writers Edition pens, Montblanc always goes one step farther to make each piece have a little more value. A finishing touch and final tribute to the author is their personal signature that is beautiful engraved into the side of each cap. In other words, each and every Writers Edition pen is autographed by the respective author to whom the pen is dedicated. This is indeed one way to make each pen even more valuable and worth collecting along side each and every pen being individually identified as 1 of the limited collection produced.

The most recent addition to the Montblanc Writers Edition pens is a beautifully marbleized dark green lacquer that is divided by platinum into a series of rings that progressively widen from the point to the cap. The pen is signed by and dedicated to George Bernard Shaw, an Irish born composer and literary critic but most importantly a dramatic playwright. Shaw spent most of his life in London and wrote more than sixty plays in his lifetime. Pygmalion is quite possibly one of Shaw's greatest works and of highest recognition. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1926 and an Oscar in 1938 after producing a screenplay for Pygmalion. A key symbol found on the George Bernard Shaw Writers Edition pen is the flower engraved on the nib of the fountain pen. This flower is the symbol for the flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, one of the leading characters in Pygmalion.

The George Bernard Shaw Writers Edition pen is yet another beautiful homage to a great author by Montblanc. Shaw was a brilliant satirist in the 20th century when wit and playfulness were at a loss. Shaw was a conservative man and did not pay much attention to public greatness or recognition as he considered them a form of social-evil and inequality. However, his lovely wife was the influencing factor in bringing Shaw to accept his honors and awards in order to pay tribute to Ireland, his home. Still today, long after Shaw's brilliant and witty life with us, we desire to pay tribute to him, his social beliefs and witty light-heartedness that helped many through hard times by creating a pen that honors him and his origin, Ireland. Let us take this pen and continue to honor Shaw by writing words of laughter and wit while simultaneously collecting one of the valuably limited 16,000 fountain pens, 18,000 ballpoint pens, or 4,000 sets produced by Montblanc marking the Writers Edition pen of 2008

Usana Health Science Scam Review

What is Usana Health Science?

Founded in 1992 by microbiologist and immunologist Dr. Myron Wentz. Usana Health Science, is a science based company that develops personal care and weight management products. Their main headquarters are located in Salt Lake City, Utah and theirs is a global company. The name Usana is derived from Greek and Latin and means "true health".

Usana manufactures most of its products in its own facility. When raw ingredients first arrive at Usana, the ingredients are immediately quarantined until they are tested for purity, quality and potency. The fact is that any ingredient that fails to meet the set standards is returned to the supplier.

As the tablets are being manufactured they go through several tests that indicate the viability, stability, and success of the product. After manufacturing, the final product is tested once more for potency and purity before packaging.

The foundation of the Usana secret nutritional system is the Essentials, of vitamin, antioxidant, and mineral dietary supplements and utilizes more than 24 vitamins and minerals. Usana guarantees the potency of every nutritional product they sell.

The Products

In Conclusion!

Usana is not a scam. In review, they have some high-quality state-of-the-art products that may be very beneficial. As with most network marketing companies you will have to pay more for the product than at your local retail store.

As for Usana as a business, it is a known fact that the MLM business opportunity may not be an opportunity at all. If you enjoy prospecting family and friends and the rejection that comes along with it, if you enjoy cold calling and approaching strangers, or if you enjoy a hosting home parties, hotel meetings and company seminars this may be the business for you. It is a known fact that MLM is not profitable for the average person. You may want to continue searching for something more automated and with better results.

Feel Like You're in Heaven With Angel Perfume

In the past, 1992 to be exact, there was a fabulous perfume produced by the Thierry Mugler design house, entitled Angel perfume. This body mist had a scent that was extremely uplifting in addition to oriental as well as foresty, and unsurprisingly very feminine. This fragrance is definitely one of the superior perfumes you might find on the market, containing patchouli combined with vanilla sandalwood and a small amount of fruity tones that included peaches, melons, plums and juicy citrus.

Complements are the Best Pay

Just as you would guess, there is an extremely heavenly aroma associated with Angel perfume that will immediately make you think of heaven's angels and its scent is one that you'd want to wear every hour of the day. You'll certainly receive a ton of compliments from everyone who gets a trace of the scent; they'll be demanding to know the name of this intriguing fragrance, although every fragrance isn't meant for every woman. Yet, its well worth the time and money to give Angel perfume a try, and noticing that its creator Thierry Mugler wishes to see ladies who perfectly clad while also smelling perfect, this is without doubt a magnificent perfume that fits the description.

Thierry Mugler made five pieces of beauty merchandise of superb originality, in 1999, that were retailed in reference of Secrets D'Angel and they consisted body sprays, masks for hair and face to guarantee that women not only sauntered in beauty, but smelt a great deal of beauty also.

Once worn, Angel perfume will result in loads of magnificent reminiscences to the wearer, in addition to those in presence of the wearer. Angel perfume should be your pick if you like chic perfumes and are searching for something unique, as it is also at the top of the list of most sold perfumes and its aroma has a great deal to do with its triumph.

Start your day with angelic scents, when using Angel perfume scents that will carry on all throughout the day and make the wearer feel as if she's floating on a cloud, as an angel would.

In fact, to the extent that sandalwood and patchouli based perfumes are concerned, Angel perfume is one of the best, and with this perfume you will certainly adore it more than you'll despise it. If you're still questioning how fantastically appealing Angel perfume is, you'll be satisfied to know that in 1998, it was the perfume that outdid Chanel No. 5 perfume from its highest rank in France, which merely demonstrates the enormous appeal such a fragrance has on patrons.

Shiba Inu - Choosing the Breed of Dog That's Right For You

When choosing a dog, it's important to choose the breed that's right for you. In order to do that, you need to know the characteristics and temperament of the breed you're thinking about adopting or purchasing before you do so. The Shiba Inu is just one breed among many from which to choose.

History/Background: The Shiba Inu (pronounced SHEE-ba inu) was brought to Japan from China 2000 years ago. Shiba means "brushwood" and "small," and inu means "dog." It is sometimes translated as "little brushwood dog." It was originally bred to flush birds and hunt small game in the dense undergrowth of Japan's mountainous terrain but is now primarily a companion dog. It is probably of chow chow and Kyushu blood. It is the smallest of the Japanese native breeds. There are more Shibas in Japan than any other breed.

This breed almost became extinct during World War II but is now the most popular breed in Japan and becoming more popular in the United States. It was brought to the United States in 1954 by an armed service family and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1992. The Shiba's talents include hunting and tracking, watchdog, guarding, agility and performing tricks.

Physical Characteristics: The Shiba Inu is small, compact, muscular, furry and agile and looks like a miniature Akita and may be mistaken for a fox. It has a pointed face, broad forehead and pricked triangular ears. It has small dark eyes, a dark nose and a Spitz-like tail that is thick and strong and curls over the back. It has a plush double coat that most often comes in red or red with a little back overlay or black with tan markings, with white or cream-colored markings on the cheeks and sides of the muzzle, throat, underside and chest. It is 13 to 16 inches in height, and weight is 15 to 25 pounds. Females are slightly smaller than males.

Personality/Temperament: Shibas are alert, lively, confident, fearless, courageous and bold but may be a bit reserved with strangers. They are fast, agile, playful and trainable. They are independent and intelligent. They are loving and kind, loyal and affectionate and are good with children. They do well with other dogs and cats if they are raised with them; however, they should not be trusted around small animals such as rodents and small birds. Shibas are not reliable off leash because of their tendency for strong prey and hunting drive and may chase other animals. Shibas can be aggressive, especially un-neutered males, and must have early obedience training.

Shibas can be a bit stubborn if the owner does not show pack leadership. They bark little and bond closely with their owners. They sometimes make a loud, high-pitched scream, sometimes referred to as a "shiba scream," when provoked or unhappy and also when very happy or overjoyed.

They are easy to travel with and are easy to housebreak and will often housebreak themselves because of their clean nature. They feel the need to maintain themselves in a clean state, often licking themselves like a cat. They go out of their way to keep their coats clean and will avoid stepping in puddles, mud and dirt.

Possible Health Conditions: This breed is generally hardy and healthy, with few genetic weaknesses, but possible health problems include hip dysplasia, slipped kneecap, glaucoma, cataracts and food allergies, and epilepsy is becoming more common. Life expectancy is about 12 to 15 years.

Exercise/Grooming: The Shiba Inu has tremendous endurance but will adapt to the owner's circumstances. It requires a daily walk and is very active indoors and will be happier and healthier with regular exercise. This breed of dog can walk for hours. As the Shiba Inu has a clean, coarse, stiff and short-haired coat, grooming is fairly easy and consists of daily brushing with a firm-bristle brush to remove dead hair. Bathing should be done only when absolutely necessary so as not to remove the natural waterproofing of its coat. This breed is a seasonally heavy shedder.

Living Conditions: A Shiba Inu will do okay in an apartment if sufficiently exercised. It is moderately active indoors but does best with at least an average-sized yard. The waterproof coat protects this breed in both hot and cold conditions and it may live outside in a secured yard but does not like to be alone outside and would prefer living indoors with its family.

Summary: This breed of dog has few health problems, doesn't require a lot of exercise, is easy to groom and housebreak, is loyal and affectionate and makes a good companion but can become aggressive if not trained early and requires strong pack leadership. If you are looking for these characteristics and traits in a dog and are able to fulfill its needs, then perhaps a Shiba Inu is the right breed for you.
