In 1992, The Council of Fashion Designers of America, once again bestowed Jacobs with a great honour: The Women's Designer of the Year Award. By the year 1997, the two were already immersed in many projects and were soon connected with Louis Vuitton where they started designing and making handbags. It was in this very same year that the initial Marc Jacobs store opened in New York.
