Girls Birthday Party Ideas

Birthday parties are forever fun to plan and arrange and if it is a party for a girl, then the party can be planned with more creativity. While planning a girl's birthday party, ensure that the party is fit for girls with the chosen theme. It's good if you have your own birthday party ideas but in case you are open to new and refreshing girl's birthday party ideas then the easiest place to look is online. Nowadays there are lots of websites offering you exciting ideas for giving the birthday girl a fabulous birthday party.

Some popular themes are Pyjama sleepover parties which are great and the glow-in-the-dark accessories can make the party extra special. If you have a digital camera, take each girl's picture and then print it out. Let the girls glue the picture to a piece of cardboard, using glue. Cut out the picture and you have a personalised paper doll.

Try to decorate everything in party. Drape and hang lots of streamers and balloons, add some feather boas. Dress up your party table with table cover, plates etc. Scatter sequins all around the table. Make a centerpiece with a bouquet of balloons tied to the handle of an inexpensive matching purse. You can arrange a special welcome party also. When the girls arrive, give them a fun, but simple make-over with the help of another adult/teen. Then let the girls select special hats, feather boa's or some other fun fashion statement. Play some kids friendly hip-hop music and let the girls do a "fashion show" announcing each girl's name.

For an all-girls birthday party, you can decide on the party favours that include little dolls, stickers, hair clips, nail polish and other things, which the little girls would find interesting.

Be My Bear can offer some great girls' birthday party ideas. We are always one step ahead in the girls' birthday party ideas league table, so you need not look further than here.

Barbie Facts that Every Collector Should Know About

Stamps may be the number one collector craze in the world but in a few years, second place Barbie dolls may just take the crown.

Unbeknownst to everyone, her full name is Barbie Millicent Roberts. She was named by her creator Ruth Handler after her daughter Barbara. She purportedly came from Willows, Wisconsin. She has five sisters, Skipper, Tutti, Stacie, Kelly and Krissy. The first Barbie retailed for just three dollars and sold 351,000 in its first year.

With thousands of Barbie doll models, there is a Barbie for everyone. There are even Barbie dolls that depict real life people and movie characters. In fact, the first celebrity that Barbie represented is fashion model Twiggy in 1967. These kinds are collectibles and are pretty expensive compared to the average Barbie doll.

The doll made its debut in the market in 1959. And if she is a real person, she is the most accomplished one, having over 80 careers including an astronaut, a doctor, a paleontologist, a lawyer and even a presidential candidate in 1992 and ran again in 2000.

She even became a medical sergeant and joined the army in 1992. After which she joined the Air Force, the Navy, and the Marine Corps. The uniforms for these series of military Barbies even underwent approvals from the pentagon to ensure that the uniforms are authentic. The first career, however, that she ventured into is, surprise, surprise, a fashion model. Barbie became an Olympic swimmer and competed in swimming in 2000.

Among the really collectible barbies are the models called Summit Barbie, which were introduced in the 1980s to commemorate the end of the US-Soviet Union cold war. The friendship (Freundshcafts) Barbie, on the other hand, was created to commemorate the tearing down of the Berlin Wall.

Another collectible is the Share A Smile Becky which was introduced in the market in 1997. Share a Smile Becky is the first fashion doll that has a wheelchair.
Barbie also came out with a series called Dolls of the World, which featured the dolls in different costumes. Italy was the first country that she represented in the collection. Black and Hispanic Barbies were introduced in 1980.

Other collectibles are the series that featured the collections of premiere Hollywood couturiers, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabana, Gucci, Versace and Vera Wang.

The best-selling Barbie in history is the "Totally-Hair Barbie, which has hair from the top of ther head to her toes.

How to Select a Beach House Rental For Your Summer Vacation

Whether you're planning your first trip to Santa Barbara, or making an annual pilgrimage, selecting the right Santa Barbara vacation rental can make all the difference. Staying in a beach house rental is the perfect solution for many travelers. It offers all the luxury of staying in a high-end hotel, with the comfort and privacy of your very own home away from home.

How to Choose a Vacation Rental Tip #1: Decide Where you Want to Stay.

Location is key when selecting your Santa Barbara beach house rental. Do you want a true beachfront property? Or would you prefer spectacular ocean views to easy beach access? Beach house rental properties that are close to the beach (1-2 blocks) may be located behind other homes so they won't have an ocean view. Other beaches homes may have an awesome ocean view from atop the Riviera, but will be about a 5-10 minute drive to the beach. Property descriptions will often make these details as clear as possible for renters, but it's definitely important to ask to make sure you are getting what you want.

How to Choose a Vacation Rental Tip #2: Make a wish list.

Consider your individual needs and prioritize your preferences for vacationing in Santa Barbara. Do you want to watch the orange sun set over the silvery horizon every night from your roof deck of your beach rental, or do you want to be front and center on the sand with seaweed wrapped between your toes? Do you want to be within easy distance of a good jogging beach? Do you want to wake to the smell of sage and explore a new hilly trail every day in your vacation rental? Or maybe you want to stroll the red-roof district and explore the art/food/shopping scene downtown? If you know what you want out of your vacation rental, you're a lot more likely to get what you want.

How to Choose a Vacation Rental Tip #3: Get specific.

Don't hesitate to ask detailed questions about everything from the beach gear that's provided to sleeping arrangements at your Santa Barbara vacation rental. If you have kids and pets, then you will want to know which beaches are most kid-friendly and dog-friendly - along with the best way to get there from your beach rental. A beach house that requires a steep walk to or from the beach, or necessitates that you bring all of your own beach Toys and paraphernalia with you may not be the best match. Most properties provide sun umbrellas, beach chairs, beach towels, etc., and even sunshade and Toy rentals for kids through concierge services, so you don't have to schlep all your own beach gear on vacation.

How to Choose a Vacation Rental Tip #4: Hit the Web.

Explore online resources and check out online Santa Barbara vacation rental travel-review sites. Photos of your potential a beach rentals are important, but they may not give the whole story. Pay particular attention to the visitors' comments. If it was important enough for someone to write about, it will probably factor into which beach rental you choose, too. Before you put down your deposit you'll want to know whether the Santa Barbara vacation rental's advertised "beach neighborhood" is actually a twenty-minute drive from the sand, or if the "friendly neighbors" mentioned in the ad peek into the windows at night.

How to Choose a Vacation Rental Tip #5: Stick with the Professionals.

Obviously, if you deal with a professional beach house rental agency, you have more protection and options. Mrs. Kravitz may not care that you don't like the dilapidated shack she advertised as a romantic beach rental cottage, but a professional will knock themselves out to help you find what you're looking for. They want your business, and will do whatever they can to make your visit a special one.

How to Choose a Vacation Rental Tip #6: Call the Source Directly.

Once you've found a few potential Santa Barbara vacation rental properties that seem to fit your criteria, call their managers and ask specific questions about the homes. Whatever is important to you should be important to the agency. They are experts in their field. If, after talking with them, you decide that a particular beach house rental is not what you're looking for, they may be able to make another suggestion that would fit the bill perfectly, even if it's through another company. Is the staff friendly and helpful? That is a good sign that they will continue to be attentive during your actual stay in your Santa Barbara beach rental.

And there's no reason to give up the high-end service you crave either. Some beach house rental companies offer concierge service free of charge. These professional men and women will fulfill all of your requests as quickly and cheerfully as any Golden Key professional. There are many, many options when it comes to choosing a Santa Barbara vacation rental. There is something for everyone. It may take a little digging, but it will be worth it when you find your ideal beach house rental. Simply put, the town is your oyster. Pick your pearl of a Santa Barbara beach rental.

Batman Video Games Through the Years

Who hasn't been fascinated with this superhero that is so different from other superheroes, not having any special powers at all save his cunning? Starting as a DC Comics character, the dark knight now invades not just the television and movie screens but also video games.

Batman video games are created to allow the Caped Crusader's fans live the life of a superhero, saving lives and a protecting the residents of Gotham City from the evils lurking when the streets get dark.

First of the batman game franchise is Batman released in 1986 released by Ocean Software and was designed as an isometric action/adventure game.

Batman: The Caped Crusader, was released in 1988 by Ocean Software. This paid homage to Batman's original comic looks and with comic book panels as game backgrounds.

Batman (also known as Batman the Movie). Released in November 1989 by Ocean Software and was obviously based on the 1989 Batman film. This game spearheaded a new style in gaming design and was well received by the gaming public. It has a higher memory than the previous Batman video game and the graphics improved to give off a 3D effect.

Batman. Released by NES in December 1989 and was also inspired by the 1989 Batman film. Another Batman game inspired by this movie was released by Mega Drive in July 1990. Actually, there will be more Batman games created basing from this movie. What do they find so special in this particular movie they keep turning it into various games with similar game plays?

PC Engine released a Batman video game in October 1990 which has gameplay features similar to that of Pac-Man.

Batman: Return of the Joker. Released by Game Boy, Mega Drive and NES in December 1991 features specialized boss fighting at the last level.

Batman Begins. Released in June 2005 and inspired by the movie with the same title features new styles of play involving stealth, driving and platforming.

The latest released Batman video game is Batman: Arkham Asylum released in August 2009 and just a few months ago in Japan. The PS3 version has exclusive downloadable Joker challenge levels.

Two Batman video games are still pending release. One (Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame) will be released in September 2010 and the other (Batman: Arkham Asylum 2) in 2011.

Top 5 Fighter Plane Movies

There are two things we're all looking for in a good fighter plane movie: fighter planes, and non-stop action. Some films that claim to be fighter plane movies contain plenty of the latter but surprisingly few of the former. I'm not naming any names here, but *cough* Firefox *cough*. If you've only got two hours of spare time, you've got one shot at choosing the right movie. The following five films are the best of the best of the genre. They should be the first films you reach for on the DVD rack.

#5. Into the Sun

A fighter pilot on active duty overseas has to put up with an annoying movie star following him everywhere - even into combat - as research for his new film role.

Released: 1992 by Trimark Pictures
Starring: Michael Pare, Anthony Michael Hall
Featured Planes: F-16 Fighting Falcons

Few people have ever heard of (or can find a copy of) Into the Sun, which is a shame, because it's one of the cleverest, funniest films in the genre. It's not a spoof, like Hot Shots, but it manages to poke fun at the stereotypes while still hitting all the story points we need in a fighter plane film.

#4. Flyboys

A World War I fighter pilot stationed with the famous Lafayette squadron in France struggles to fend off the Germans and protect the French woman he's falling in love with.

Released: 2006 by 20th Century Fox
Starring: James Franco, Jean Reno
Featured Planes: Nieuport 17s

This is a must-see for anyone who thinks biplanes are boring. The greater danger these pilots faced because of the fragility of their equipment makes the dogfight sequences in Flyboys some of the most tense and harrowing in the genre.

#3. Battle of Britain

In the summer of 1940, a small group of British pilots fight desperately to keep the Nazi Luftwaffe from bombing their country into submission and opening the way for a land invasion.

Released: 1969 by MGM/United Artists
Starring: Michael Caine, Lawrence Olivier
Featured Planes: Spitfires, Hurricanes, Heinkel 111s, ME-109s, etc.

There is only one word for the aerial sequences in Battle of Britain: amazing. With so many planes in the air, it looks like a nest of angry hornets, and the best part is that they're all real. There was no CGI in 1969. The story is a bit confusing for people who don't know their history, but the massive dogfights more than make up for it.

#2. Top Gun

A cocky young fighter pilot gets his chance to go up against the best pilots in the Navy when he's chosen for the fighter weapons school nicknamed "Top Gun."

Released: 1986 by Paramount Pictures
Starring: Tom Cruise, Val Kilmet
Featured Planes: F-14 Tomcats, A-4 Skyhawks, Mig-28s (actually F-5 Tiger IIs)

Top Gun is the seminal film of the genre. It spawned numerous popular quotes ("I have a need, a need for speed!") and ignited a resurgence of interest in the fighter plane genre. It's very 80s, especially in the soundtrack, but hardly a minute goes by where we're not treated to heartstopping aerial action. Always a solid pick.

#1. Stealth

A fighter pilot is forced to go head to head with his own wingman: a futuristic, artificially intelligent fighter plane that has gone rogue.

Released: 2005 by Columbia Pictures
Starring: Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel
Featured Planes: futuristic fighters

There's a sizeable element of science fiction in Stealth, which only serves to make it all the more awesome. All the impossible feats you ever daydreamed of pulling in a fighter are here and the sprawling story even manages to be unpredictable. Stealth is underrated, and comes highly recommended... by me.

The Golden Eagle Facts and Info

This Beautiful Golden Eagle eagle is named for its golden brown plumage, with head and nape feathers are a little slightly lighter, golden color. The golden eagle is between 26-33 inches in height, the eagle has a wingspan of 78 inches (over 7 feet long) and weighs 3.2 to 6.4 kg. Adults have a bill which is a bit smaller and darker than that of other eagle, which include the bald eagle. The immature golden eagle's in flight can be recognised from the immature bald eagle by the presence of distinct white patches on the under-wing and by a large white tail with dark band. The most notable field mark at any age distinguishing these two eagles, should you be in a position to see it, is the presence of feathers on the legs of golden eagles all the way down to the toes while the bald eagle has a considerable amount of the leg showing. Its favored prey food include rodents, birds, rabbits, and reptiles, as well as carrion. They have also been known to take small sheep and other small farm animals.

Life and the History of these eagle's

The golden eagle is a long-lived bird, with a life span believed to be around 30 years or even more. It is also known that a pair of eagle's mate for life and defends a large selected territory against other golden eagles to protect there young from starving. Both the male and female help in building the nest, occasionally in a tree but more often on a cliff ledge, commonly with the protection of an overhanging tree or rock so they have shelter. The nest is made of large sticks and branches and often contains aromatic leaves which may serve to deter insects and other small pests. Since the same nest may be used and added to almost every year, So as you can imagine theses nests can become very large due to the birds adding to them.

The birds nest usually of 1 or 2 sometimes but rarely 3 eggs which hatch after an incubation period of 34-45 days. Eaglets fledge in 65-75 days. The male provides some help with incubation, but he is the major food provider during incubation and chick rearing. Young reach sexual maturity and obtain adult coloration in most cases at around 5 years of age.

Habitat is very Important

The golden eagle is seen worldwide throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Golden eagles are typically associated with the large plains of the western United States, and are fairly common in our western states, Alaska and western Canada. Never abundant in the eastern U. S., this species is now virtually extirpated as a breeding bird east of the Mississippi River. Golden eagles once nested at no more than a few or so sites in the Adirondacks of New York, in Maine and in New Hampshire. They are believed to still nest in large numbers in eastern Canada and they are also protected here, as evidenced by hundreds of golden eagles appearing during the fall and spring migrations in the eastern U. S. Preferred habitats include generally open areas, mountains, grasslands, and deserts. The golden eagle feeds primarily on live mammals such as ground squirrels and rabbits, and other small animals found in their preferred upland habitats. In winter they will feed on carrion and waterfowl in the east.

Status

Golden eagles have been protected in the United States since 1963. During the 1950's, an estimated 20,000 eagles were destroyed by ranchers and farmers, particularly sheep farmers who perceived them to be a major threat to there livestock. In the north eastern states, remnant populations declined drastically to almost distinction. Although sightings occur every year in New York, most are during migration. A nest was built in the winter of 1992-93 by a wintering pair in southeastern New York, but has never been used as the pair departs every spring to return the next fall. The reasons for the decline of this species in the east are not clear. Various factors seem to be involved, including shooting, accidental trapping, human disturbance at nest sites, posishing, loss of essential open hunting habitat due to succession and fire control, and possibly pesticide contamination (especially by DDT).and also construction and building works.

Hacking, a technique used successfully in New York to restore the bald eagle, has been considered for golden eagle's, but has not been pursued due to the uncertainty of why golden eagles disappeared from New York and whether these conditions still remain. Tracking of golden eagle's is being conducted in a few south eastern states during the 1990's and latter and at least three pair's has nested in there in recent years.

Great Price Aliens for

Aliens SNAKE ALIEN Action Figure (1992 Kenner) Review

The Snake Alien is one of many "Aliens" toys that was released by Kenner in the 90's after being inspired by the movie "Alien 3", where the alien warrior was born from a dog host, and obtained the speed and agility from the dog. So can be said to all the figures, taking on the form of their host, such as the gorilla, killer crab, mantis, rhino, etc.

The snake alien comes with bitting action (and also sticks out that killer tongue, too!) and strangles prey as well. The toy's body is flexible, so it can be positioned in different ways. Comic book is included unless you buy the figure loose. One drawback to this figure is trying to get it to stand on its own and I still can't get mine to stand on its own like the one in the picture! Out of all the alien figures, this is probably the scariest-looking alien I've ever seen.

If you're collecting these toys, you should definately add this one to your collection. It's a rare piece! One last note, I would not recommend this to young children! It might cause nightmares! :)

The "Mad Mind" has spoken.

Aliens SNAKE ALIEN Action Figure (1992 Kenner) Feature

  • Aliens SNAKE ALIEN Action Figure with Snap-Attack jaw and Constricting Tail!
  • Includes an exclusive Aliens Comic book.
  • Made for play with the 5 inches tall Aliens action figure line.
  • Made by Kenner in 1992 and long out of production.

Barbie Doll Values Collecting - A Value Guide To Find The Worth Of Your Barbie Dolls

When collecting Barbie, the doll values in a guide used for Barbie dolls can be either tangible or intangible but either way we have a value guide for you. As people always say...everything has a price. You might be wondering what the values of your Barbie doll are or if you are getting ready to purchase Barbie doll collectibles to add to your collection what price should you pay? For this a Barbie doll collector should always use a value guide.

Collecting Barbie Dolls, defined by our 8 steps, can be lots of fun but finding their values can become frustrating as a collector because you are not sure what are the "right" price values. With a Barbie doll values guide book you can spend time researching your Barbie collector dolls, to understand their history, and related items like dollhouses, clothes, coloring books, games, etc. to help you in the process of finding the right values for your dolls. During the search you will want to use many different methods such as internet, auctions, local stores, and basic collector guides . While trying to determine the values of your collector Barbie Doll you will need to look for Vintage Barbie collecting terminology and it will guide you in the right direction.

Some key words that you need to know while you are looking through your collector Barbie doll value collecting guide:

HTF- hard to find
MIB- mint in box (factory doll in mint condition)
MIP- mint in package (means all accessories are still in original packaging)
MNB- in mint condition but not in original box
NT- (not touched) can mean excellent as well when talking about the collector Barbie Doll's condition
NRFB- never removed from box
OSS- has the original swimsuit

When a collector is trying to determine the worth of their Barbie doll, here are some key terms they will see in their value collecting guide:

Barbie Doll Book Values is defined as the pricing guide values of the collector Barbie and does not mean the price you should get on a secondary market. This is an important key word to note when collecting Barbie.

Barbie Doll Market Values is defined as the actual price you expect to sell your collector Barbie Dolls for. There are many factors to take into consideration as a doll collector so you will want to use online auctions as a guide when determine your collector Barbie values.

Barbie collector dolls should reflect the values of the items you collect because they appeal to you. This is the point where the values of your Barbie collector doll become intangible so even if the worth of the Barbie you are collecting is not valuable to the market, the sentimental worth will make it a value to you!

Jean Paul Gaultier - Fragrances Available

If you are looking for either cologne or perfume by Jean Paul Gaultier, you have a lot of fragrances to choose from. Here is a quick rundown of your options...

Colognes:

If you are looking for a cologne from Jean Paul Gaultier you have three fragrances from which to choose from. Le Mâle was introduced in 1995. Gaultier 2 is a unisex fragrance and Fleur du Mâle came out in 2007. By far the most popular mens' cologne is Le Mâle. Not only is this brand cologne the best selling one from this manufacturer, it is the #1 selling cologne in all of Europe! The reviews on it from sites such as Amazon were very positive, with users saying that their lady friends loved it. Fleur du Mâle, the most recent cologne has a sweet scent, which does not smell to feminine.

Perfumes:

Classique was released in 1993 and Fragile came out in the year 2000. Gaultier 2 is a unisex fragrance and Madame is the latest perfume from Jean Paul Gaultier. Classique, the more popular perfume, contains amber, vanilla, and wood. Fragile has a floral blend. In other words, it smells a lot like flowers. Gaultier 2 has a sweet scent. Gaultier 2 is very long lasting and smells sweet as well. Because it is unisex, the bottle seems to really bring out the "together" theme.

Aside from the aforementioned colognes and perfumes, there are variations available from Jean Paul Gaultier's official website. From their website you can also get a custom engraved bottle.

Nick has a more detailed look in Jean Paul Gaultier Perfume and Jean Paul Gaultier Cologne.

Baby Food Carrots Contain What? Nitrates and Homemade Baby Food

First and foremost, jarred commercial baby food carrots (and other jarred commercial baby food vegetables) have nitrates too! Even jarred organic carrot baby foods have nitrates. Commercial baby food companies will tell you that they SCREEN for nitrate levels, not that they remove nitrates. This means that they may buy veggies that are grown in a part of the country where the nitrate contamination of soil is lower, where the sun shines more or where Farmer's do not use high levels of nitrogen containing fertilizers. Nitrates are naturally occurring and thus cannot be removed!

Due to screening, commercial baby foods may contain a lower level of nitrates than homemade as parents do not have the ability to screen veggies for nitrates. Please keep in mind that baby food companies voluntarily screen for levels of nitrate and there is no Federal (U.S.) regulation or mandate requiring them to screen. You see, nitrates are naturally occuring in the vegetable itself and not even the folks at Gerber/Beechnut/Heinz et al. can remove nitrates.

So when we first hear of nitrates and carrots, “Blue Baby Syndrome” and homemade baby food, it is often with a bit of fear and trepidation that we proceed to make baby’s food. We wish to do the best for our babies and we certainly do not want to poison them! Let’s take a moment to look at the facts about nitrates, infants and making baby food.

"Around the age of three months, an increase in the amount of hydrochloric acid in a baby's stomach kills most of the bacteria that convert nitrate to nitrite. By the time a baby is six months old, its digestive system is fully developed, and none of the nitrate-converting bacteria remain. In older children and adults, nitrate is absorbed and excreted, and methemoglobinemia is no longer a concern." http://ohioline.osu.edu/b744/b744_2.html

Nitrates are naturally occurring nitrogen/oxygen compounds found in almost every vegetable that we eat and the soils they are grown in. Nitrates are also laboratory formulated and used in fertilizers. Nitrates are ingested either from vegetables or drinking water. Nitrates/nitrites have been found to be responsible for "Blue Baby Syndrome." Adults are not affected by nitrates or nitrites because their stomachs produce acids that fight the bacteria that help convert nitrates into nitrites. This conversion, and the resulting nitrite, is what allows for nitrate poisoning or “Blue Baby Syndrome.”

The name “Blue Baby Syndrome” stems from the fact that nitrites hinder proper oxygen transportation in the red blood cells. “Once in the blood, nitrite oxidizes iron in the hemoglobin of red blood cells to form methemoglobin, which lacks hemoglobin's oxygen-carrying ability.”1 Without proper oxygen saturation in the blood, the body’s cells become oxygen deprived and the skin takes on a blue or purple hue. This oxygen deprivation may lead to the slow asphyxiation of the person poisoned.

Symptoms are described as: "The most obvious symptom of nitrate poisoning is a bluish color of the skin, particularly around the eyes and mouth. This is called cyanosis. A baby with these symptoms should be taken to an emergency medical facility immediately. The doctor will take a blood sample to be sure the baby is suffering from nitrate poisoning. The blood sample of an affected baby is a chocolate brown instead of a healthy red. Nitrate poisoning can be treated, and in most cases the baby makes a full recovery. http://ohioline.osu.edu/b744/b744_2.html

The highest concentration of nitrates occurs in water, root vegetables and leafy vegetables such as spinach, lettuce and other greens. The concentration and amount of occurring nitrates will vary depending on the type of vegetable, the temperature that it is grown at, the sunlight exposure, soil moisture levels and the level of natural nitrogen in the soil.

Foods that tend to accumulate large amount of nitrate include: spinach, beets, cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. Root vegetables such as carrots, beets and broccoli all contain nitrates though at a much lower level than do the leafys. Leafy vegetables include spinach, cabbage or other greens like Kale. Studies done on spinach and nitrates in particular have shown that with improper storage and preparation, the nitrate levels may actually increase. Proper preparation and immediate use or storing via freezer method will help eliminate this risk in leafy vegetables.

As boiling vegetables in water will not eliminate nitrate concentration, and nitrates may in fact seep into the water used for cooking, it is best to not use that water as the liquid to make your puree. For some people, they find it may be best to stick to feeding baby jarred carrots, beets and other vegetables that may contain nitrates until baby reaches 8 months of age.

"Because the intake of naturally occurring nitrates from foods such as green beans, carrots, squash, spinach, and beets can be as high as or higher than that from well water, these foods should be avoided before 3 months of age, although there is no nutritional indication to add complementary foods to the diet of the healthy term infant before 6 months of age" http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/116/3/784

If you prefer to make your own homemade baby vegetables, an alternative is to choose organic produce. Organics do not use commercial nitrate fertilizers and thus the risk of nitrate contamination/concentration is minimized, but not eliminated. The AAP suggests a very cautious and conservative waiting period, 8 months or older, to make homemade leafy vegetables that may contain nitrates. While this sounds frightening, the fact is that nitrate poisoning comes from contaminated drinking/ground water before it ever comes from vegetables.

So who is most at risk? Babies under the age of 6 months old are most at risk and babies under the age of 3 months old even more so. Babies who are over the age of 6 months old have developed the stomach acids necessary to fight the bacteria that helps nitrate conversion and subsequent nitrate poisoning. Infants who are formula fed and live on farms or in highly agricultural areas may also be at greater risk. Nitrates used in farming, and the excess not taken in by the crop itself, easily run-off and may seep into water tables, contaminating water supplies.

As mentioned earlier, nitrate poisoning is very rare and when it does occur, it is typically traced back to ground water contamination – specifically from contaminated private wells.2 If you have any doubts or fears, please speak to your pediatrician!

Usana Review - The Product and the Income Opportunity

Because of the increasing popularity of USANA, many people visit the internet to obtain information about its products and income opportunity. One thing you should keep in mind when gathering relevant facts is to be cautious where you are actually getting the information. This article will provide you a critical USANA review to help you gain full understanding of what their company is all about.

It was in 1992, when Dr. Myron Wentz founded the USANA Health Sciences with the main objective of developing and providing the highest quality, science-based products, which will be distributed and marketed internationally through network marketing, thus opening a rewarding financial and income opportunity for their shareholders, employees and independent associates.

It is quite clear that the main driving force of the USANA business is to move their products across every country around the globe. Their products are categorized under the health and wellness market, which is calculated to be the next biggest industry in the next few years or so. Even in difficult times, people situate health as their number one priority and most people are more than willing to invest in it. USANA presents three primary products: supplements marketed as Micro Optimizers, skin care products known as Sense and food replacements called Macro Optimizers.

As a part of this USANA review, it's now time to look at their business approach. USANA dispenses their products through what they call as a "Network Marketing Distribution" channel. This permits people to build their own business and act as independent distributors. If you apply as an independent distributor, you will have the ultimate rights to advertise, promote and sell their products to your customers and at the same time build your own team of distributors known as your down line. This means, you can both become an avid customer and enjoy their products while managing your own team of distributors for higher profits.

In 2008, USANA has undergone huge growth and development. A significant portion of their celebrated success is largely attributed to the increasing number of housewives, students and unemployed individuals looking for a business opportunity because job openings are becoming insufficient. The chance to perk up your health as well as to improve your financial status is a very attractive proposal. USANA covering a concrete capital gains history and an ongoing list of great compliments has a promising future ahead.

There is nothing you can find fault in USANA products other than its pricing. Their products are of quality and great aside from the broad diversity of choices. When it comes to the marketing plan, the only difficult part is trying to keep your down line active. You have to work fulltime to keep both your left and right leg maintained with even volume of sales. This way the payments from your own sales and commissions from your down line's sales will provide you with continuous profits.

If you are looking forward in making USANA as your primary source of income, this USANA review recommends that you recruit as many distributors as possible in your down line. You should also create your own strategies and marketing schemes that you can implement to develop your USANA vitamins business.

A Beautiful Mind (Movie Review)

Nominated for eight Academy Awards, and winner of four Oscars including Best Picture, A Beautiful Mind is one of the premier dramas of the decade. The brainchild of popular director Ron Howard (Opie from The Andy Griffith Show), A Beautiful Mind debuted to widespread critical acclaim due to the depth of its screenplay, the brilliant performances of Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly, and the in-depth portrayal of a victim of mental illness. Based on the true story of John Nash, a schizophrenic mathematical genius who overcame his illness and went on to win the prestigious Nobel Prize for his "Game Theory," A Beautiful Mind is one of the best films of the decade...

A young mathematical genius, John Nash (Russell Crowe) enjoys the early success of a budding career in academia. Able to complete mathematical formulas that baffle many of the greatest minds of his time, a young Nash stands on the brink of profound discovery with a limitless future and seemingly inevitable fame at his doorstep. Meeting a beautiful girl at an evening party, Alicia (Jennifer Connelly) would later become Nash's wife. The two seem destined for a life of bliss. But Nash's problems were not confined to the mathematical arena...

Suffering from schizophrenia, Nash develops an acute sense of paranoia, decoding encrypted non-existent Soviet spy messages from comic books and newspaper advertisements. The reality in which he lives does not exist, and it threatens to tear apart his marriage, his career, and the very life which he holds dear... Can Nash overcome his debilitating disease and pursue the course of excellence to which he once seemed destined? The cast and crew of A Beautiful Mind allow us to see a whole new world through the eyes of suffering genius...

Russell Crowe's follow up performance to smash hits LA Confidential and Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind is an unbelievable journey into one man's reality. Russell Crowe's brilliant portrayal of the schizophrenic Nash and Jennifer Connelly's standout performance as the woman who loved him form an onscreen synergy that continually drives the screenplay of A Beautiful Mind. Exhibiting quality direction from Ron Howard, the film stands as an eternal testament to the beauty of the human mind and the durability of the human spirit to overcome obstacles and shine at its brightest.

A fascinating film which successfully blurs the lines between John Nash's imagination and the world of reality, A Beautiful Mind vividly illustrates one man's struggle against great odds. As Nash's paranoia and hallucinations collude to blot out the genius of a beautiful mind, the power of the human spirit rallies to great heights - achieving a Nobel Prize and even the immortalization of one's own life in film! Nash should be lauded for his triumph against a paralyzing disease, and Ron Howard should be praised for delivering a cinematic masterpiece that shows us the true beauty of one man's plight. For these reasons and more, A Beautiful Mind is definite must-see film - perhaps one of the fifty best films of all time...
